Plot synopsis
The film precedes a selection of Russian films that the Canal+ Cinema channel is showing during one week in May 2010. These include films already familiar to French viewers, in particular from festival screenings. These are “Alexandra” by A. Sokurov and “Exile” by A. Zvyagintsev; "Day Watch" by T. Bekmambetov, which was released in France, as well as films that the French audience will see for the first time - "12" by N. Mikhalkov, "Sword Bearer", "S.S.D: Death to Soviet Children", "Piranha Hunt" . The director of the Canal+ TV channel, Svetlana Klinyshkova, a Russian Parisian with ten years of experience, traveled to Moscow and St. Petersburg last fall. Her task was to meet and record interviews with a variety of directors, from Sokurov to Valeria Gai-Germanika, to talk about the diversity of modern Russian cinema. How did she select the interviewees for her film?
