Melodrama on the motives of the story by G. Shelest “Nugget”.
Having lost her parents during the war, Galia is brought
up in a children’s home. After her grandfather has been
rehabilitated, they live together. Galia often calls Alyosha
to repair the telephone. Once, after walking around Moscow
at night, they realise that they love each other. But one day
Alexei becomes the victim of slander. His boss, unwilling
to sort out the nature of a client’s complaint, demands an
apology from Alexei. The young man refuses and loses his job.
His friends help him find another job, but for some reason
he cannot convince Galia that he was right all along: the girl
accuses him of cowardice, and the heroes part...
