Plot synopsis

The early 50s. Senior lieutenant Lunin arrives at the frontier-post where he has to take up command of it at once. Foreign spies passing themselves off as archeologists try to organize Ismail-bek’s gang attack in order to facilitate border crossing for spies Stenly and Marrow. The wicked designs are disrupted: the violators are arrested, and the rest of the gang members are thrown behind the river.
