Plot synopsis

In 1913 the life of a famous merchant, Grigoriy Grigoryevich Eliseev , the owner of many shops among which was the main one in Moscow at the corner of the Tverskaya street and the Kozitskiy street-side , was suddenly overwhelmed by a great feeling. He fell deeply in love with the wife of a Moscow jeweler - Vera Vasilyeva. This love turned out to be fateful not only for Grigiriy himself , but for the whole trade-empire that had already been in the Eliseevs possession for more than a hundred years.
It’s unknown how it happened that the greatest “Eliseev Brothers trade house” trembled and collapsed because of a simple earthy feeling, that the destinies of all that house residents changed irreversibly in the film “The great gastronome”.
