Biography
Armenian Soviet screenwriter, director and actor. Honored Artist of the Armenian SSR (1982).
Born September 7, 1925 in Abastumani (Georgia). In 1942 he entered the Academy of Arts in Tbilisi, and from 1945 he continued his studies at the Yerevan Art Institute (graduating in 1948). Since 1954, he began to publish stories in the Armenian press in Tbilisi, then in Yerevan. In 1969 he published his first book of short stories. Since 1965, he finally moved to Yerevan and worked in the "Grakan Tert" newspaper.
In 1973-1980 he edited the magazine "Screen", in the early 90s - the newspaper "Harutyun".
Since 1981, he has been directing, making films based on his own scripts.
He died on November 21, 2007 in Yerevan.
