The story presented to the viewers is the story of the Lenfilm studio, the most difficult period of his life, and the story of the set designer of Lenfilm, Viktor Ivanov, who knew how to keep his dignity as a man, and the story of our country in difficult circumstances. The era in which Viktor lived and worked was complicated: it was that of perestroika with its illusions and disappointments. One of the subjects of the film is Viktor's latest work, the cartoon "Sirine" which has become a kind of message, a story about his time. The film also features numerous chronicles and interviews of the famous Petersburg filmmaker.
