The explanatory dictionary provides us with the following definition of the word “emigration”: it comes from the Latin word ‘emigro’ that means to move into another place, when citizens of a certain country move into another country for a permanent place of residence or for a more or less long term for some political, economical or other reasons.
The film “Downstream” has no aim to perceive and explain the roots and consequences of emigration in general. We just show the life of some Russian emigrants living in small province towns of Florida.
