Plot synopsis
Based on Mikhail Bulgakov's novel "Master and Margarita". 1930's, Moscow. A famous writer finds himself censored by the Soviet state. His novel is banned, and the theatrical premier of his new play about Pontius PIlate - canceled. In just a few days he becomes an outcast in the USSR. Inspired by these misfortunes - the writer gets to work on a new novel, in which Moscow is visited by a mysterious foreigner by the name of Woland. Woland's goal is to wreck havoc in Soviet Moscow, and bring everyone who has wronged the writer to justice. As the writer works on his new novel, he falls madly in love with Margarita, married to a top government official. Soon enough he decides that the only way their love can survive, is in the fictional world of his book "Master and Margarita", where Woland will look after them.
