Based on the comedy by A.N. Ostrovsky. Provincial Vasilkov fell in love with Lidia, a girl from the broken nobleman’s family. The beautiful girl marries him with the hope of well being and at the same time despises him. But he does not want to abide such a deception and she leaves him. The new debts force her to return to husband.
