Plot synopsis
Despite the escalation in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine since winter 2014, life in the capitals of Kiev and Moscow must go on as usual as well as it can. Those responsible for preserving some sense of “normality” in the middle of a war are the “ordinary” heroes of everyday life: teachers, doctors, building supervisors, police, actors. In two parts, KIEV/MOSCOW tells the stories of these individuals, who, while they may practice the same professions, remain divided by a heavily guarded border, a war and the rigid ideologies of some of their fellow countrymen.
