Born in 1957 in Krasnoyarsk region.
Graduated from Krasnoyarsk Polytechnical Institute with a degree in engineering. In 1981–1990 he headed the Krasnoyarsk Regional House of Youth photography club. In 1991 he participated in «California-Siberia» International photography exchange which was a professional tour with lectures and exhibitions supported by the Brooks Institute of Photography (Santa-Barbara, USA). In 1991-2006 has been a photojournalist at «Krasnoyarski Rabochy» regional newspaper.
Solo exhibitions held in Moscow, St. Petersburg (1981, 2002), Scotland (1989), India (1990), New Zealand (1991), Australia, USA (1992), France (1992), Germany (1993, 1999). Author of the exhibition series entitled «Top of the World» in Krasnoyarsk (1991, 1999, 2000, 2001). In 2001 he exhibited at the IV Krasnoyarsk Museum Biennale the project «River of Time», a story on the life of prisoners in the territory of former GULAG camps in Krasnoyarsk region (collaboration with Carl de Keyzer). In 2002 the enlarged version of the exhibition entitled «Farewell to Gulag» was shown in Sakharov Museum and Public centre (Moscow). In autumn 2002 he initiated the opening of a photography gallery in cooperation with the Krasnoyarsk Museum Centre. Winner of the annual photocontest «Horizons of Krasnoyarsk Region» (2001, 2002).
A devoted climber, he has twice been the country champion and participated in several ascents of Everest (1995, 1996, 1998).
