From 1934, after completing animation training courses at the Moscow Press House (which gave him a taste for satirical drawing), he worked in the Experimental Animation workshop under the direction of V Smirnov then to Mosfilm.
From 1936, he worked as an intervaleur and animator at the “Soyouzmoultfilm” studios. He became a director there in 1937. He first worked in collaboration with G. Filippov, M. Pashtchenko, E. Migounov, etc.
From 1954, he produced cartoons independently. Among his collaborators: E. Migounov, G. Pozine, P. Repkine, V. Vassilenko (Vesseltchakova), S. Roussakov (Nou, pogodi!), V. Sobolev, A. Vinokourov, P. Sarkissian, etc.
Taught in the Instruction and Qualification courses for animators with Soyuzmoultfilm.
Member of the animation chair, co-author of the animation teaching program. Member of the artistic council of the studio.
Member of ASIFA (International Animation Film Association).
