Plot synopsis
The verses of Vladimir Nabokov: "There are nights: I go to bed and my bed is sailing towards Russia ..." are the leitmotif of the film. These verses were written in Berlin when he had already emigrated, but they contain the whole tragedy of the people who lost their homeland. It is a film about the civil war in Crimea and how the young Nabokov spent his last days in Russia on the shores of the Black Sea. It is a film about emigration and emigrants who, decades later, despite the massacre of their families, come to their homeland and do everything to preserve the memory of "old Russia" where their heart and soul come back every night.
