Plot synopsis
Anna Akhmatova’s cat was so lively and active that she used to call him “a cat and a half” and add: “Don’t you think he looks like Iosif?”
The film (which genre its authors defines as “sketches”) is devoted to life of Iosif Brodskiy before he was deported from Russia in 1972.
Lyric-epic tale about a poet and his alter-ego, a cat with which they travel together through time and the fates of each other, finding reflections in the waters of their beloved and native town.
The film is based on the writings and drawings of Brodskiy and on materials from unique photographic archive.
