Two years ago Olga, the daughter of a powerful businessman, lost her beloved husband in Chechnya. She still thinks of him, rejecting the courtship of two suitors - her father's business partner Kostya and an old friend Kirill. Kostya is so much in love, that he tries everything he can think of to gain her attention, lavishing her with a blooming apple tree in winter and a romantic gondola ride on the Moskva River.
