Plot synopsis
Based on the poems «Aluda Ketelauri«, «Guest and Host» by Vazha Pshavela (translated by Nikolai Zabolotsky). The devil Matsil, the Khevsur Khvtisia and the beautiful Maiden are having an argument about man, death and immortality, good and evil. Life alternately confirms and disproves their judgments. The strife between Khevsurs and Kistins, laws of blood feud claim human lives. Indifference gives rise to thoughts of the pointlessness of human existence, selfless devotion adds power and strengthens hopes. Evil does not yield to good but to conscience.
