In the 13th century, Daniel, the eminent sovereign of the State of Galicia-Volhynia, was the last prince to resist the Horde of Batou. Subjugated, Daniel tries to form a coalition with the Pope, the King of Hungary, the princes of Poland and Lithuania. But the project of a crusade of the Catholic powers fails. In 1255, Daniel pushes back the Mongol hordes from the markets of Europe for the last time.
