Plot synopsis
Circus dog Belka dreams of flying under the big top. Mongrel dog Strelka thinks only of where she can find another bone. Her friend rat Venya helps her in this earthly business at the utmost extent of his ability, but he remains an incorrigible romantic deep inside. When Strelka and Venya organize one more wild-cat venture to get something to eat, a circus rocket falls down on them with Belka inside. This accidental meeting is where the world’s history of space exploration began… Schoolbooks say that Belka and Strelka were first space dogs. But the dogs say that people dissemble a lot…
