Commentaries and bibliography
“Everything is written. The birth of a human being, his life, his death are not a matter of willpower. He moves from point A to point B while simultaneously making an inner effort in order to develop his inner movement. What I am interested in is precisely this process of inner movement throughout life.
I know it is endless whereas life is only given to us for a limited time. My intention was to try and capture this inner process. There is a key moment in the movie : we distractedly observe a scene at the beach, people are in harmony with nature and with their own selves. At that precise moment, they pass on their experience and love to the ones who are right next to them.
A boy is playing in the water, then he joins his mother and sits next to her on the lake bank, two women are talking under an umbrella, two lovers are smiling and touching each other lightly; friends are playing cards, boys and girls are flirting; children are building sand castles. And a boy is looking at another one running inside a ball… “The bravest” is now the one who is observing the scene.
Is it more important to live or to observe life? I’d love to think that in this movie, reality creates poetry.”
