Historical drama based on the novel by Mikhail Lermontov.
1837: another year in the exhausting Caucasian War. For fighting a duel, a young officer, Grigory Pechorin, is sent to the Caucasus to join the troops. There Pechorin will unwittingly participate in a series of events: in fights with smugglers, in the kidnapping of a young Chechen princess, in a new duel. And when the whole world unites against him and his close friend perishes by his hand, he will continue his journey alone, a hero of a new time.
