Every year on 8 March Russia's telephone systems transmit millions of calls and SMS messages. Hardworking analysts have calculated that the overwhelming majority of phone calls is to the most important woman in the life of each man: the mother.
We have grown up: prepared applications and bouquets of flowers bought purely for mum's pleasure are long-forgotten habits of childhood. Henceforth we congratulate our mums in an adult way: we wait until they wake up and dial their phone number.
But what if there were a collapse, and due to overload the telephone network would fail? No connection. What is to be done? Some will wait until it's been restored and congratulate in the evening or even on the next day. Others, as the heroes of our flm-almanac, will change their plans and congratulate their mums on the day, personally, as they did as children!
