In order to realize his dream of opening a cardiology center for the Perm region, Professor Sukhanov was forced to enter politics.
Professor Sukhanov, a cardiologist in Perm who, during his career, performed more than 18,000 open-heart surgeries, always despised politics, considering that the highest value on this earth was human life. He was proud of his title of doctor and tried to work hard, which earned him the love and respect of his fellow citizens. In the end, he achieved the impossible: a cardiology center with the latest equipment was to be opened in Perm. The state had allocated considerable resources for the construction of this center, but its delivery was delayed by four years because the allocated funds had been embezzled.
At the end of 2011, Sukhanov received an unexpected offer from the Kremlin: to head the Perm region headquarters of Vladimir Putin's pre-election campaign for the 2012 presidential election.
Aware of being used as a tool, Sukhanov accepted the offer from Putin's team in order to obtain what he had been fighting for so long.
