Plot synopsis
Perm-36 is a documentary by Sergei Katchkin on political repression in the USSR through the history of the Perm-36 labor camp.
The film is based on the testimonies of three former political prisoners: Sergei Kovalev, Mikhail Meilakh and Viktor Pestov. Several years later, they return to the camp, today a museum, to take part in the Pilorama forum, whose camp reflects, like a mirror, the current state of Russian society, still haunted by the old ghosts of the 'USSR. However, communo-patriotic activists fervently opposed the existence of the museum and the forum. Over time, they even manage to attract the attention of the general public and the authorities. The future becomes increasingly dark for the museum ...
