Perm-36 is a documentary by Sergei Katchkin on political repression in the USSR through the history of the Perm-36 labor camp.
The film is based on the testimonies of three former political prisoners: Sergei Kovalev, Mikhail Meilakh and Viktor Pestov. Several years later, they return to the camp, today a museum, to take part in the Pilorama forum, whose camp reflects, like a mirror, the current state of Russian society, still haunted by the old ghosts of the 'USSR. However, communo-patriotic activists fervently opposed the existence of the museum and the forum. Over time, they even manage to attract the attention of the general public and the authorities.
