Plot synopsis
The film was shot on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Alexander Solzhenitsyn. It tells the story of the writer's life from his childhood to the tragic moment when he wrote his letter to the Fourth Congress of the USSR Writers' Union, which marked his final break with the authorities. The film also tells about the tragic fate of his supporters, his relationship with Varlam Shalamov.
