The subject of the film "Kalashnikov" is inspired by the memories of Mikhail Kalashnikov, Russian engineer and author of the most famous automatic rifle in the world. This is the story of tank sergeant-chief Kalashnikov. The film begins with the serious wound he suffered in a battle at the very beginning of the war, in October 1941. Then it is followed through his convalescence in hospital and the ordeals of life. We see him drawing the first sketches of the weapon prototype, the work of a lifetime.
