Plot synopsis
A story of a Soviet Cinderella. Tanya, an uneducated, but hard-working peasant girl comes to a town and is engaged first as a daily maid, then as a cleaning woman at a textile factory, goes to study. Soon she becomes an advanced weaver, and is awarded the Order of Lenin, graduates from an institute. She is elected Deputy to the Supreme Soviet. Lebedev, an engineer who became director at the factory, still loves her. Having met him at the opening ceremony of the All-Union agricultural exhibition, Tanya realizes that she loves him too.
