A touching comedy about the common soldiers of the Great Patriotic War who service a false airfield that distracts enemy’s attention. Tonya, a lance corporal, and private Ogurtsov are placed under senior sergeant Semibab’s orders. Ogurtsov who is in love with Tonya, discovers that he has rivals - the pilots, and he confides his sufferings to his diary. Tonya and Semibab successfully expose a German spy laid up in a village, and Ogurtsov even manages to capture an enemy troops column. And Tonya herself writes in Ogurtsov’s diary the words of affection.
