1943 A partisan detachment and a reconnaissance group assigned to it, headed by State Security Major Semin, operate in the Belarusian forests. When trying to recruit high-ranking German intelligence officer Kurt Schimmel, Semin receives information from him about the presence of chemical weapons in the Germans.
The center decides to check the report. Scout Lida Eisenshmitte arrives at the detachment with the task of getting in touch with Schimmel. The clash of Schimmel and Eisenschmitte is a clash of equal opponents. Both are professionals, both are adventurers, both are brave and master themselves in any situation. They are predators, men of war who have lost their sense of humanity. Because war never ends and never begins for scouts: it always goes on.
