Plot synopsis
Vera Obolenskaya was a Russian immigrant, one of the leaders of the French Resistance during WWII. This film, based on the book by Ludmila Flam "Vicky: the Countess Obolensky" is about her, but not simply about her - it is also about modern youth in Paris and Moscow. Would they be capable of courage in times of need like she was - giving her life for her principles at the age of 33? Have the concepts of honor and human dignity all but disappeared for us, people of the 21st century? 18 seconds was the amount of time that passed from the moment Vicky put her head down on the guillotine at the German prison to the moment she was beheaded. Her entire life flashed before her eyes - seemingly an ordinary life, but in reality a journey of faith of Vera Obolenskaya.
