Plot synopsis
When the “cold war” starts the ancient Eskimo settlement Naukan was closed at the the Dezhnev Cape. Its inhabitants were resettled to marshy place far from the border. This resettlement became the beginning of the people’s disappearance. In 1996, only 75 native Naukans remained. The verses written by the Naukan poetess Zoya Nenlyumkina are sounded in the film.
