Plot synopsis
This film looks back on one hundred years of Russia’s past marked by many a military conflict.
Turning back the clock by looking at archive footage of seven military conflicts, this film moves backwards from the war against Chechnya to war with Japan in 1904.Again and again, every one of these wars destroyed people’s hopes for a better future and a more humane existence. Their hopes, expressed in the work of French author Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, form the film’s commentary.
