Plot synopsis
Alexei Temnikov is a well-known ballet dancer and recognized genius, whose career was interrupted by a trauma in the 1990s. Twenty years on, Alexei finds out that the trauma has progressed, and that soon he won't be able to walk, which seems to him the same as death. Before this happens, Alexei decides to stage a ballet that he has conceived a long time ago, but which he never realised for fear of failure. For Alexei life and death depend on a simple question: "What do I leave behind?" But for someone who has been out of the profession for a while, it is not easy to return to ballet. Nobody can help or support Temnikov, not because of a lack of people around him, but because he wants no help. His heavy character and undisputed talent have turned his life into utter solitude.
