Plot synopsis
Speaking of the Armenian painter Hakob Hovnatanyan (1806-1881), Sergei Paradjanov shows the cultural life of Tbilisi in the 19th century. The film combines the canvases of the self-taught painter, famous portrait painter of Tiflis, and a series of collages, which allow you to explore the traditional districts of the capital of Georgia, then populated mostly by Armenians.
