Artiom Tchaguine, l'un des innombrables «conquérants» de Moscou, reçoit la nouvelle de la mort de son père, qui les a abandonnés avec sa mère alors qu'il était encore enfant. La mort de son père ne touche en rien Artiom, mais voulant résoudre des problèmes matériels en vendant la maison laissée par son père, il se rend dans sa ville natale de Sovetsk. Là, il rencontre de manière inattendue la nouvelle famille de son père - sa femme et son fils de six ans, derrière lesquels se trouve une forte diaspora ouzbek. Essayant de résoudre le problème de la vente de la maison, Tchaguine fait appel à un bandit local, une connaissance de longue date de son père, pour combattre la diaspora. Le conflit se développe comme une boule de neige, se transformant en une confrontation violente. Au centre de tout cela se trouve Artiom, qui a perdu le contrôle de ce qui se passe, et la malheureuse veuve qui veut juste enterrer son mari.

Там он неожиданно встречает новую семью отца - жену и шестилетнего сына, за которыми стоит сильная узбекская диаспора. Пытаясь решить возникшую проблему с продажей дома, Чагин призывает на борьбу с диаспорой местного бандита, давнего знакомого отца. Конфликт нарастает как снежный ком, перерастая в жестокое противостояние. В центре всего этого оказывается Артем, потерявший контроль над происходящим, и несчастная вдова, которая просто хочет похоронить мужа.

The conflict develops like a snowball, turning into a violent confrontation. At the center of it all is Artyom, who has lost control of what is going on, and the hapless widow who just wants to bury her husband.
