Plot synopsis
Based upon the novel by Vladislav Romanov.
In a hunting lodge at the edge of a unique forest reserve lives a huntsman, Vassily Klintsov (Igor Lifanov), a young retired special force captain. A respectable German burgher arrives in a nearby town, to hunt in the company of the Governor (Victor Stepanov). Hunting a wild boar is a serious and dangerous business. Especially when, as bad luck would have it, a very dangerous criminal (Andrei Fedortsov) just escaped from the local high-security colony. The hunting trip ought to be cancelled. But the bureaucrats have too much at stake. The “moneybags” is ready to make investments in several big projects. Counting on the well-tested Russian “off-chance”, the Governor gives a go-ahead to rounding up the beast. Used in the film are songs by Spleen Band.
