At 40 a person has a lot of knowledge and skills, he has achieved much, has raised children and he still preserves the taste for life and happiness and the soul is still young. But for the intellectual characters of this story the 4th decade is a time of hard problems and mutual misunderstanding, of discord with grown-up children. Attempts to correct past errors produce new mistakes...
