Plot synopsis
The director Victor Turzhansky distorted the plot of "The Station Master" to suit the requirements of western distribution. He deploys pseudo-Russian themes, such as the troika and officers' binges with gipsy songs in taverns. Abandoned by the officer, Dunya (Crispin) becomes a prostitute. A repenting Minsky (Rigaud) retires and marries Dunya, and the newly-married couple visit Virin (Baur) ...
