Plot synopsis
The movie describes the first 20 years ofV.V. Nabokov's life in Russia and tells about his family. His birth in St. Petersburg, family home, happy childhood, interest in butterflies, studies at Tenishevsky col¬ lege, first love, first poems of V.Nabokov, departure for the Crimea after the revolution and emigration to Europe in 1919. It all was reflected in the writer's works. Whatever he wrote, Russia, Petersburg and everything related to it always held an important place in his work. V.Nabokov's son Dmitry appears in the film.
