Plot synopsis
Viktor Pronyakin returns from the army to his fiancee, but she has now got someone else. So Viktor heads off to the big mine at Kursk, where work is in full flow. Everyone lives in expectation of the first ore being dug up. To test the labourer out, the foreman hands him a beaten-up truck - if he manages to repair it, he'll get to stick around for a while. The lad manages to repair the truck and begins breaking all sorts of records...
