Director, scriptwriter. Born
in the Amginsk Region of the Republic
Sakha (Yakutia) in 1983. Completed
teacher training for elementary
school and returned to work in his native village where
he organized a club for teenagers. Made amateur
clips and short fiction films. In 2014 he made from
his own script the debut feature “Bonfire”, which was
released at the Busan IFF in 2016. The film participated
in 20 Russian and international festivals, and won
the ImagiNATIVE prize in Toronto, and the Grand Prix
of the Yakutsk IFF; it was also nominated for the Asia
Pacific award. In 2019 Davydov released his second
feature, “There Is No God But Me” (Best Director prize,
Yakutsk IFF), and the short “River”; in 2020 followed his
third feature, “Scarecrow”. Currently continues to teach at his school.
