Born at Kazalinsk (Kazakhstan) in 1961. From 1981-1990 worked as a teacher of basic military training, physical education, history, social studies in a secondary school. In 1988 graduated from the history department of the Nizhny Tagil Pedagogical Institute. In 1998 graduated from the Higher Courses for Scriptwriters and Directors. Worked in the concern "Top Secret" on Russian TV, in studios in Moscow and Yekaterinburg. Since 2000 member of the Union of Cinematographers of Russia.
