Lyudmila GOURCHENKO was born on November 12, 1935 in Kharkov. Russian film and theater artist and singer.
A graduate of VGIK (chair of S. Gerasimov and T. Makarova). From 1964 to 1966 she was an actress at the theater "Sovremiennik" and from 1966 to 1969 at GosKontsert, then she worked on contracts. Her first major role in the film Carnival Night in 1956 immediately brought her immense popular success. However, for several years, from the end of the 60s to the beginning of the 70s, she did not have major roles in the cinema. But since 1976 with the film Old Walls she has become one of the most sought-after artists of the Soviet Union and then of Russia. She has played in 79 films (at least) and with the greatest directors (Riazanov, Mikhalkov, Room, Guerman, Muratova, Konchalovsky, Todorovsky, Kheifitz, Menchov, Bondarchuk, Kvinikhidze…)
