Tania Detkina was born on November 6, 1964 in Moscow
and graduated from the Moscow Institute of Architecture.
Until 1998 she worked as a media artist before studying at
the VKSiR (Higher Classes of Screenplay Writing and Directing,
taught by A. German and S. Karmalita). In 2000 she
worked as an intern on A. German’s film Hard to Be a God.
She directed her short film debut Sidet’ v shkafu (To Sit in
a Wardrobe) in 2001. Her second short film Pustynia (The
Desert) was completed in 2002. She is currently working
for the Russian television channel CTC. PAKOSTNIK is her
first feature-length film.
