Born on July 11, 1956 in Bukhara. In 1994,
he graduated from VGIK’s Scriptwriting
Department (workshop of O. Agishev, V.
Tulyakova). He made his film debut as
a scriptwriter in 1993, worked on the films
“Peshawar Waltz”, “Disappearance”, “All Is
Quiet in Baghdad”, “Younger”, “Sugared
Cranberry”, “Sinful Love”. Author of several
published novels. In 1999, he made his
directorial debut with the feature film “White
Dance”. His films were awarded prizes of
domestic and foreign film festivals.
