Scriptwriter, director, teacher
at the Moscow School of New Cinema
(MSNC). Born in Moscow. Graduated
from the faculty of journalism
at Moscow State University (2008, department
of literary and art criticism), from the director’s
faculty of MSNC (2016, workshop Dmitri Mamuliya).
In 2015 released the short “Yukha”, based on her own
script; since 2018 teaches directing at MSNC. Co-author
of the script for Mamuliya’s film “A Criminal Man” (2019),
which premiered at the IFF Venice and subsequently
won the prize for Best Script at IFF Listopad in Minsk,
the prize for Best Direction at IFF Istanbul. “In Deep Sleep”
(2020) is Maria Ignatenko’s feature debut. Currently
in production is the feature film “Fire!”, where she is director and scriptwriter.
