In 1972 she entered the Shchukin Theater School and took the course of Y. Katin-Yartsev.
After graduating from the theater school in 1976, she began working in the troupe of the Moscow Academic Mayakovsky Theater.
She made her film debut in 1973, while still a student - Leonid Bykov invited Simonova to play the role of pilot Masha Popova in the film "Only the Old Go to Battle".
However, the name of Evgenia Simonova became widely known in 1975, after the release of Georgy Danelia's comedy film "Afonya", in which she played the main female role - Katya, and the main male character was played by Leonid Kuravlev.
Among the best cinematographic works of Evgeniya Simonova, one can single out the princess in the brilliant production of Mark Zakharov "An Ordinary Miracle", Zinaida Fedorovna in the melodrama based on the story of A.P. Chekhov "The Story of an Unknown Man", Jill in the TV series "Rafferty", Anna Grigorievna Snitkina in the biographical film "Twenty-six Days in the Life of Dostoevsky". Among the latest films with the participation of the actress, it is worth mentioning "Russian Ragtime", "Role", "The Ghost of My House" and, of course, "Children of the Arbat" directed by the husband of the actress A.
