Plot synopsis
"Nation" is a story about a small ethnic group in northern Udmurtia that miraculously preserved its originality and its leader who wants to proclaim a new nation. Slogans, speeches and interventions for the right of the ethnic group to secede do not solve the real problems of these people who live far from civilization. At the same time, young Maria, a specialist in folklore, goes to the Besserman villages to collect and make known their musical culture beyond the borders of the country.
