Released from prison, Asfandiar receives from his rich benefactor Samata the unexpected proposal to become a mullah in a village where the latter has built a mosque. The appearance of a mullah exacerbates the conflicts in the village where things are already not going well: unemployment, theft, greed, infamy, alcoholism reign. After having undergone hard trials, Asfandiar understands that he is in his place and that his duty is to help all those who need it.
