Plot synopsis
The film is based on archival photographs and texts by Vladimir Arsenev, the famous explorer of the Russian Far East, the author of the novel "Dersu Uzala" and other books. The film gives the viewer an opportunity to see the Far East region with the eyes of a pioneer: to go to virgin natural territories and geographical places, to discover archaic traditions and penetrate the secrets of the culture of local ethnic communities, to experience the romance of travel and feel the taste of discoveries. The film tells about Arsenyev's statements on the eternal themes: culture, civilization, man and nature, war and peace.
