A few weeks in the life of the young Paralympian Andrei Filippov (19 years old), a specialist in swimming for the blind. We traveled with Andrei in his small town the short but important path from training at home in Volgograd to participating in the Russian Cup in Moscow. During this trip we will try to get to know Andrei a little better and understand what his life is like. Every day he has to overcome all sorts of difficulties: moral, financial and health problems... Andrei is an albino from birth with 5 percent vision in a city where being different is almost a crime. Since his early childhood he has been used to mockery and incomprehension from his peers. During all these years Andrei has been fighting against his environment and swimming has become for him a way to fight for "his place in the sun". In his case this expression takes on an additional character because exposure to the sun is not recommended for albinos.
